One week is definitely not enough to visit our beautiful region, but if you are coming to Alsace for the first time, here is a suggested itinerary so you don't miss any of the must-see attractions and will want to come back again very soon!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

All our suggestions are located\u00a0less than 1.5 hours\u2019 drive from La Long\u00e8re des Capucines holiday cottage<\/strong>. Feel free to adapt the programme according to the weather and your preferences!<\/p>\n

Day 1: arrival in Bergholtz<\/h2>\n

If you've just arrived at the cottage and have some time to spare, don't hesitate to go for a walk to\u00a0Guebwiller<\/a>, A jewel of art and history, it boasts a fascinating heritage. Concerts are often held on Saturday evenings at the Dominicans of Upper Alsace.,\u00a0view the programme<\/a>\u00a0!<\/p>\n

A short visit to a wine cellar can also kick off your stay. I recommend visiting\u00a0Albert Siegler in Orschwihr<\/a>.<\/p>\n

You can also choose to simply enjoy the garden or patio, or relax by the fire depending on the season!<\/p>\n

Day 2: Quaint villages, half-timbered houses and the Alsace Wine Route<\/h2>\n

\"LaA day spent strolling contemplatively and culturally through the villages that have made the region famous for their beauty, their flowers, their half-timbered houses and their architectural heritage.<\/p>\n

Today, leave your high heels at home, because you'll often be trudging along cobbled streets!<\/p>\n

A first stop at\u00a0Eguisheim<\/strong>\u00a0One of the most beautiful villages in France, it is a true medieval gem, built concentrically around its castle.<\/p>\n

Continue on your way to\u00a0Kaysersberg<\/strong>, Voted France's favourite village in 2017, this small medieval-style town is dominated by a castle that can be reached on foot in just a few minutes. From the top, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards.<\/p>\n

Many restaurants and terraces offer typical Alsatian dishes, but you can also leave this tourist spot and find more peace and quiet in the surrounding villages, such as Sigolsheim or Kientzheim.<\/p>\n

Spend your afternoon discovering\u00a0Riquewihr<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Ribeauvill\u00e9<\/strong>, they too are full of narrow streets and houses, each one more beautiful than the last.<\/p>\n

Throughout the day, feel free to pop into the wine producers' premises and sample some of our finest grape varieties!<\/p>\n

Variant<\/strong>\u00a0: Don't want to take your car but still want to enjoy the Alsace Wine Route? Hop aboard the\u00a0Kutzig<\/a>\u00a0An original bus that stops at the wine-growing towns mentioned above!<\/p>\n

Day 3: Strasbourg, capital of Alsace and Europe<\/h2>\n

\"LaIt is impossible to visit Alsace without passing through\u00a0Strasbourg<\/a>\u2026<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Cathedral<\/strong>\u00a0dominates the city, it is an almost obligatory stop, just like the Petite Venise district, the Vauban Dam, the Covered Bridges... Embark on a stroll along the water with\u00a0Batorama<\/strong>, and discover the city from a different perspective!<\/p>\n

With the tram, you can travel to the Orangery Park and the European institutions district.<\/p>\n

Our advice:<\/strong><\/p>\n

For peace of mind, it is best to leave your car at Colmar station and\u00a0to travel to Strasbourg by train\u00a0<\/a>!<\/p>\n

You can also take your car and stop at the\u00a0Illkirch Baggersee South Tram Relay<\/a>, Upon arrival, you will be given a return tram ticket valid for all passengers in the vehicle.<\/p>\n

A good idea for this day is to hire a bicycle (an old man<\/a>), the cycle paths are well maintained and you will experience this day like a true Strasbourg resident!<\/p>\n

Day 4: Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle and Colmar<\/h2>\n

\"LaHaut-Koenigsbourg Castle<\/strong>\u00a0dominates the Alsace plain and from up there you have a breathtaking view of the surrounding area. The visit is free, but you can also take part in\u00a0guided tours<\/a>\u00a0every day to fully enjoy this beautifully restored gem.<\/p>\n

Colmar<\/strong>\u00a0is a beautiful little town that can easily be visited in half a day. Feel free to lose yourself in the narrow streets or take part in one of the\u00a0guided tours\u00a0<\/a>organised throughout the year by the Tourist Office.<\/p>\n

Don't miss out on\u00a0Little Venice,<\/strong>\u00a0And why not take a trip in a flat-bottomed boat if the weather permits?<\/p>\n

Our advice:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Start your day with a visit to the castle and end it in Colmar to enjoy the illuminations on display all year round in the Petite Venise district.<\/p>\n

Remember to bring a light jacket when visiting the castle, as it can sometimes be a bit chilly in these old ruins!<\/p>\n

Day 5: The Alsace Ecomuseum<\/h2>\n

\"LaImmerse yourself in Alsatian traditions in this reconstructed Alsatian village. Stroll through the narrow streets, observe and chat with the artisans who bring forgotten crafts back to life all year round.<\/p>\n

Activities are offered every day during the season.,\u00a0consult the programme to plan your visit<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Day 6: The Route des Cr\u00eates<\/h2>\n

\"LaThis is another side of the region, with no half-timbered houses or geraniums here, but\u00a0unspoilt wilderness<\/strong>\u00a0and breathtaking landscapes...<\/p>\n

You can choose to make a small (or large)\u00a0hike<\/a>, There are miles of trails marked by the Club Vosgien, suitable for all levels. The site\u00a0Hiking on the Grand Ballon<\/a>\u00a0will help you choose your walk for the day!<\/p>\n

It is also pleasant to visit Markstein for sunrise and\u00a0enjoy the friendly chamois\u00a0<\/a>who let you approach them without any worries, a wonderful experience to enjoy.<\/p>\n

If you're not too keen on hiking, then feel free to explore\u00a0the Route des Cr\u00eates by car<\/a>, It's really worth it, and you'll be amazed!<\/p>\n

For lunch, you have a wide choice\u00a0farm inns\u00a0<\/a>In the hills, remember to book in advance, especially during peak season!<\/p>\n

Day 7: Mulhouse, street art and museums<\/h2>\n

\"LaMulhouse<\/strong>\u00a0is really worth getting to know, its town centre is very pleasant and it's a good place to do a bit of shopping.<\/p>\n

Mulhouse is renowned for its industrial past, traces of which can be seen in\u00a0the numerous museums that bear witness to this.<\/a><\/p>\n

You can choose between the Train Museum, the Automobile Museum, the Electropolis Museum, the Fabric Printing Museum, the Wallpaper Museum, La Grange \u00e0 b\u00e9cane...<\/p>\n

And for fans of\u00a0Street Art<\/strong>, Mulhouse is the place to be, with works by renowned artists on display throughout the city. It is possible to visit the city for free with a guide.\u00a0a passionate Greeter<\/a>.<\/p>\n
